Term 4 Reflection!!!

Term 4, one of the most exciting terms of my WBS year. amazing activities and opportunities. `

Kapa Haka was a joy. I'm shore everyone had a blast. The parents were amazed and the host of the real festivals were surprised as well.




Athletics, the most exciting event out of all. The sweat and tears.

The fun categories high jump, 200 metre sprint, 100 metre sprint, long jump and ball throw.

Coming 3rd in the 100 metre sprint, 1st in the 200 metre sprint and 4th in high jump i recon everyone had fun and enjoyed it.

Overall i Have had a wonderful year at Wainui Beach School and have had a amazing time in term 4.

Kapa Haka Festival 2019!

 Kapa Haka Festival

November 20th. Kapa Haka date. Showgrounds ready for action.  We take the bus to our wonderful stage. We watch our younger kids do us proud. It was time to finish what they started. We are doing this for our school and our pride. 

Charging up the stairs, we march with discipline. Standing strong we watch our viewers.

Carefully we do step by step. We fall to the ground. We start slaying the ground while we takahia with our fists. We grab the heaviness from the ground and shake it. We fiercely start smacking our arms. As we reset our stance, we take a command from our leader.

Now it was time for Utaina our transition song. We sung the first and then the second run through we row the air. As we stand on the stage we finish our song. We take our leaders command to go left. Suddenly there was a loud booming kamau!!!!! HI. We make a box between our eyes so they see our deadly glare. We start chanting our fearless Haka. We kneal on the ground taking on our arms. We get up and start grabbing the air and slapping our chests. After we fire our arms in the air and we put pressure on the arm. After that, HI! We start up Ka Mate. Once we finish we march out of the hall. 13 well deserved minutes.

MARAE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was early in the morning when we woke up and got ready for this wonderful Marae trip. We got there and a lot of people were walking around on the courts. We did that for awhile until we got called to sit down. We were down for a while until we got called by Aunty Baba. We got chanted in and then we all sat down. There was a dad that volunteered to do the talking for us. After a while they did a song. That's when we did Tu Mai Ra.  We were listening to the people telling stories. Then we got taught a song called Mama Panda. It went Mama Panda, PukiPraua, Eti Ata, Eti Po, Kia ora, Mama Panda, PukiPraua, MMMM Reka! After that we went to have morning tea . After that we got into some activities. we did that until lunch time. Then we had free play time. Then we did some more activities. We had free play until we had to get the beds ready. Then we did kapa haka practise until we performed to the parents. We did our kapa haka and then it was Wainui beach school's got talent. Then we got ready for bed and went to sleep. When we woke up got dressed and got to take a big run, then we went on to have some free time. After that we lined up for breakfast. After that we had another play. We had a activity time and then we had lunch. After lunch we packed our beds up.               

KNOCKOUT FINALS!!!!!

Guess what on the weekend Me and Wainui Thunder went and played mangapapa for the cup of knockout finals. We already have one trophy before but we just won two more for the school.

We arrived on the freezing cold saturday morning ready for action. We were furious. We do our warm ups. We then hear Blake blow the whistle, Derek hands out the positions for the team. Nikau was in goal, Toby was Right back, Chester was center back, Charlie was left back, Ziggy was center mid, I was on the right wing, Gavin was on the left wing and Seve and Kya were up front. Rory, Shea. We started off because Chester guessed which hand it was in.

The whistle  blew and kia kicked off. We would go and it would be up and down. Finally Nikau gives the ball to Ziggy and he boots it across the field and I Shoot and get it bottom left corner. We get back to half way and reset. We go up and down the pitch, some missed shots came to Ziggy smacking a knuckle ball right into the centre of the net.We repeat the same thing over again and Ziggy took a shot from the retreat line and got it in. It goes the same way and then I

get the ball to my feet, I run up and i had a 1v1 with the keeper. I curl it around the keeper, It goes in. we started and then Ziggy passes it to gavin. He was put in left back and then he still scored from just over half way.

The final score was 5-1 to us and we won the cups, i think we all had a great time.

CAPITAL E Performance!

On Monday these performers came and did a capital E show. It was like a news show and they were really funny. My favourite part about the Show was the Alien invasion movie ad.  I was sitting next to Sennen and he went crazy and pretended to be shooting at the humans. He also said 'Grab The Minigun'! I also like the rapper little Shoo Shine, and he made a song called Eat Your Face! We were there until morning tea or a little bit  before.


Overall i think that everyone had a very fun time.

My First And Last Cross Country Race At Wainui Beach School.

On a nice Tuesday morning we traveled down to our intense cross country race. We sat down and waited for our turn. The Y6 girls were up first. As they took off we got ready for our race. We got called up and I got really nervous.

We lined up with furious faces. As we waited suddenly the two bricks collided and made a huge BANG! Everyone runs off, Ziggy, Gavin, Rylan and Toby gas it. I hung around the back at the start. I finally started to reach other people, I got in the top ten. But I started to slow down because my heel started to hurt again. 

In the race there were some good runners with not much strength. Ziggy was sick, Gavin had sore heals and Jack wacked Toby in the face while running and gave Toby a blood nose.

We went down hill I nearly fell over again, but I managed to keep my self balanced and kept running. As I passed Koka Ngaire I have to keep my pace. Then I raced down the track. I heard the cheering and screaming and I saw parents with there camera out ready for a photo of their kids. I run to the finish line, and I realised that I still have another lap to go. To be fair the same stuff happened in the second Lap.

Overall it was a great exciting day!

Every Morning except for Fridays we listen to the teachers read Because of Winn Dixie. The book is about this girl called India Opal has to move from her hometown to this Watley. She thought she would not get friends but she ended up to make heaps of friends. She makes a party and all her friends come to the party. We haven't read past that. I am enjoying this book because it was Kind of what happened with me and my brother Rylan.
